WESTERN RECORD CO./BOURBANA

These are the earliest known issued recordings by Bourbon. It is assumed that Bourbon had a financial interest in this company. Recorded around 1936, most (if not all) with piano accompaniment by Bart Howard, later the author of "In Other Words" ("Fly Me To The Moon"). The label name, Bourbana, is clearly reminiscent of fellow risqué singer Dwight Fiske's Fiskeana label and, like it, the first Bourbana record is a 12" disc. All subsequent discs were the standard 10".
