An Evening in Copehagen (UTC 1)

Released in two versions, 10" and 12", with at least three different covers, the first UTC LP contains, according to Jim Gardner, re-releases of 78 material.

Tracks:

The Wedding
Mr. Wong (same as New Bourbon Records 103 A)
Erma's Weekend (probably the same as New Bourbon Records 102 A/B)
The Raid
Mrs. Bevington Swope (same as New Bourbon Records 103 B)
A Gentlemen's Gentleman (same as New Bourbon Records 101 A)
Sisters of Charity (same as "Give, Sister, Give" New Bourbon Records 102 B)
Extended Play

"The Wedding" and "The Raid" seem to be companion pieces. They are both frenetic, autobiographical pieces with a strong ring of verisimilitude. Given Gardner's recollection, it is likely that they were released earlier as a yet unidentified 78 or, at the very least, recorded at a different time and place than the rest of the UTC output.

Although the subject matter of  "Extended Play" suggests that it is material added to the expanded 12" version, it does, in fact appear on the 10" version, thus making the 10" and 12" versions identical. Apparently it refers to Bourbon's foray into LP's.

UTC 1: (l. to r.) front cover 10", 1st issue; front cover 10", 2nd issue; rear cover 10", 2nd issue

UTC 1: (l. to r.) front cover 12", rear cover 12"

The front cover photograph of the 12" UTC 1 is of Ray standing near the corner of Bourbon and Toulouse Streets in New Orleans. He is outside the Sugar Bowl, a popular female impersonation club of the 50's. His tuxedoed attire reflects the laws of the time which forbade public crossdressing.
